"Ghost in the Machine"
ECOART-TV NEWS from...Miami/Andres Corredor
December 2, 2008-January 30, 2009
“Ghost in the Machine” is a group show that focuses on the documentation of the cryptic grey area between borders in constant flux, as an evasive paradox that bridges dual systems. Throughout the exhibition, the spectator can feel the essence of subtle moments and the fragility of the ephemeral, a sense of a vanishing presence, and the almost futile effort to preserve it.
Participating artists are:
Martin Andersen
Nini Blancq-Cazaux
Eliud Carrizales
Giovanni Cervantes
Sergio A. Fernández
Pablo Franco
Toni Francois
Federico Gutiérrez
Stephan Jacobs
Hugo López
Christoph Morlinghaus
Martin Pisotti
Emilio Valdés
Eduardo Villarreal
Of note are photographs by Sergio A. Fernández, created in corporate spaces that appear sterile and impersonal, in which the spectator can feel a foreboding presence; the decomposition of systems in lucid, binary code-like images in the works by Martin Andersen; and a menacing, arcane farewell from the protagonists in a film by Emilio Valdes.
