Portrait Earth/Earth Day 2013
ECOARTPEDIA 2013 Special Edition
LETTER FROM THE EDITOR:
ECOARTPEDIA celebrates EARTH DAY 2013 with an Exhibition dedicated to SOUND and the Earth from a planetary perspective, as writer and visionary artist Stewart Brand (Whole Earth Catalogs) brilliantly stated and listen to Steve Jobs on Brand's contribution to his life.
We highlight SOUND as "an essential shift of emphasis from the eye to the ear" (Capra on Berendt) and invite our audiences to recall and listen to "The Planets", the 1916 orchestral suite composed by Gustav Holst, a musician during the turn of the century (1874-1934). His composition was brought back sixty years later in an electronic version created by Isao Tomita for the Don Barrett film "The Planets: A Musical Video Grand Tour of the Solar System".
The exhibition rounds out with Nohra Corredor's "PORTRAIT EARTH: an Ecological Art of an old Subject". Welcome to our EARTH DAY 2013 Celebration
